About the Community Challenge

The Barlow Family Foundation (BFF), the philanthropic arm of the Iowa Falls State Bank, is offering its sixth year of the Community Challenge from October 15-29.

The Community Challenge is a two-week fundraising event wherein selected area non-profit organizations are awarded matching funds for any fundraising efforts they undertake, up to a pre-determined project goal.  Last year’s Community Challenge raised a total of $141,498 for four area organizations.

The purpose of the Challenge is to invigorate organizations, create a broader base for their operations, and lend the support of the Iowa Falls State Bank to new projects.  "We want the Community Challenge to be an opportunity for these organizations to Dream Big and accomplish a goal which would normally be beyond their reach," said Pam Angstman, BFF chairman.

Applications can be found at Iowa Falls State Bank or by clicking here.   All organizations must be a 501(c)3 and be located within 25 miles of Iowa Falls.

Applications will be due on Tuesday, August 1.  From the submitted applications, the BFF board will choose groups to present a seven-minute presentation to the BFF board at a later date.  The final Challenge groups will be chosen as a result of the presentations.

The results from last year were as follows:
